GRRRL is an electronic music collaboration between revolutionary women, brought together by In Place Of War (IPOW), a global organisation that supports artistic creativity in places of conflict as a tool for positive change.

Together, these eight influential artists from Brazil, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Bangladesh and the UK fuse together sounds of dark techno, ghetto bass, hip hop, dancehall, reggae, soul and electronica, and tell their collective stories, demonstrating how artistic creativity can conquer conflict.

GRRRL music is directed by Brazil’s Laima Leyton (Mixhell/Soulwax), the project features an exhilarating mix of influential artists, including Zimbabwe’s Rapper Queen AWA (African Women Arise), The Queen of Brazilian Dancehall Lei Di Dai, The Young Lioness of Africa Wiyaala, UK/Bangladeshi vocalist Sohini Alam, and DJ and Percussionist from Caracas, MABE.

They are GRRRL. You are welcome.
